Nikki Patel (born 5 July 1990 in Bradford, West Yorkshire) is a British actress. She is best known as the character Amber Kalirai in Coronation Street. Some may also recognise her from the BBC hit drama Waterloo Road, where she played Shazia. The role of Amber in Coronation Street is her first professional role.
Coincidentally, Nikki's father worked as a shopkeeper himself for many years. This helped her prepare for the role of a shopworker herself. She is the only person in her family to achieve success in the acting industry but continues to take school work seriously, achieving an A* in Drama GCSE and a further 2 A's in English at Whitcliffe Mount School in Cleckheaton.
She appeared at the British Soap Awards in 2006 and the National Television Awards 2006.
She was nominated for Most Popular Newcomer award at the National Television Awards 2006 but lost out to Charlie Clements.
